My best blog that demonstrates my abilities would be the blog that I posted on Monday April 6, 2015. This blog is over the book "Looking for Alaska" by John Green. I believe this bog is the best one that shows my learning abilities because it gave details on some of the characters, and who they are as people. I wrote this blog when I was only a couple of chapters into the book so I did not have the full information over the whole book. In my blog I made a connection of the book to other books by John Green. The connection I made was that "Looking for Alaska" would have the same structure as some other books by John Green like "The Fault in Our Stars" because John Green tends to have a dramatic feeling within his novels. Also in my blog I explained how when the "Weekend Warriors" (the group of kids that pushed Miles into the pond) pushed Miles into the pond they did it just because they didn't like who he hung out with, which was Colonel. I also made a connection to kids now a days by saying how just because they didn't like who Miles talked to (Colonel) they decided to get revenge just because Colonel did something to them before. Kids now will do what they want to just because they want to get revenge on someone from problems that happened in the past. Also within my blog I made some predictions that I thought were going to happen within the rest of the book. One more thing that I did in this blog was that I added a picture about the book. This gave just an extra visual for the readers which is a good idea.
Some goals that I have for myself regarding the future are that I do wish to read a lot more books. Especially some that I do not usually read, just so I can get a feel to new writing styles. I tend to read more non fiction and dramatic novels so I would like to try to read some realistic fictional books and maybe some fantasy books. Another goal that I have for the next year is that if I do have to make more blogs about the books that will read, I do want to add more detail to them and I would also need to add more connections within the book and to other sources. Also I would like to improve on adding more quotes from within the book, this just gives the blog more credible sources and I do believe it makes the blog look better. Overall my goals that I set for myself will be that I would like to improve my reading and writing skills to a higher level.
