                                                   Blog Book: If I Stay

The book that I chose to read was If I stay by Gayle Forman. I am only a couple of chapters into the book but I already to find it amazing! I find it to be very interesting and emotional. This book is about a girl named Mia and she is driving along with her brother Teddy and her Mother and Father. It is a snowy dad and they decide to go and meet her Grandparents at their house. All of a sudden their car crashes into another car and it does not turn out well for Mia and her family. As Mia becomes a "spirit" she is able to see everyone and everything around her but they are unable to see her. She has to decide if she wants to come back to life or if she wants to die. The thing is if she comes back to life she will most likely be an orphan.

Even though I am only a couple of chapters into the book I am already excited to finish it! It is very intriguing and once you start reading it, it is hard to stop. You just want to keep reading until you finish the book! What I also like about this book is that it goes back and forth from Mia's past life and what is going on right now. I like how Gayle Forman did that because I like to see how Mia's past life was, and it brings more sentimental value to what is happening to her when she is in the hospital now.

What I don't really like about this book so far is that in the beginning it didn't really explain a lot about the characters. You had to get a chapter or two in till you actually found out about Mia, Teddy, and her rock star boyfriend Adam and her parents who used to be famous rock stars. I also didn't like that once you hear about Mia's boyfriend Adam you don't hear from him until a while after the crash. Other then that I am really enjoying this book and I cannot wait to see how it ends!

  1. I am very intrigued by your blog post to read If I Stay by Gayle Foreman! I love how you describe Mia as this unidentified mystery, and I also love how the author makes the book about choices that decide how you will live your life, which is so realistic to today's world. I think that if it were me, I would choose to stay because I had been given a second chance at life, so I would take that as a sign of strength, but I am interested on what Mia will choose, so I will definitely be reading this in the near future!
