Looking for Alaska Update!:
So right now I am so close to finishing the book! I am so excited! I believe i only have three to four chapters left. From my last blog I have explained how the "Weekend Warriors" had thrown Miles into the pond just because he is friends with Colonel. For that move by the Weekend Warriors, Miles and Colonel decides they should get revenge on them. Also Alaska is into the revenge plan as well. So to start off the pranks, they set off fire crackers near Mr. Starnes' house. He is sort of like the principle of the school they all go to (the Dean). As Mr Starnes goes to see where the noise is coming from, Alaska and Colonel sneak into his house and they change the Weekend Warriors grades. Not only do they do that but Lara, one of Miles's classmates/girl/friend, goes and puts blue hair dye into their shampoo and their hair gel! To celebrate the pranks they have just pulled on the Weekend Warriors, they all decide to go out to the old barn by the school to drink and party...
As from this part of the book it begins to get very sad... On one of the "celebration" nights Alaska gets drunk once again. During the middle of the night she had received a phone call, and she had needed to leave the campus for whatever the phone call had been. As Colonel and Miles awoke Alaska had insisted that she needed to leave to them, so they helped her leave the campus by distracting the whole campus with more fireworks. So Alaska got into her car and started to drive away...but she was drunk. While driving, Alaska had gotten into a terrible car accident which ended up killing her instantly. The next day at school Mr. Starnes had held a assembly to tell the students about the death of Alaska. Both Colonel and Miles are completely devastated by the news, and they begin to feel guilty. The feel guilty because they helped Alaska leave the campus even though she was drunk.
I have stopped around this point in the book. I am completely surprised with what happened to Alaska. Especially because Miles and Alaska started to show there feelings for one another! However this book is still amazing and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes these types of drama related books! Also John Green is an amazing writer, and his books are always great!
